Michael Femi Obasaju: D.V.M ., M.V.M., Ph.D., HCLD (ABB), ELD (ABB), M.I .S.IVF / Andrology & Hormones Laboratory Director Dr. Michael Femi Obasaju has been the Director of In-Vitro Fertilization (IVF) & Andrology & Hormones Laboratories at New York Fertility Institute since 1997. Prior to working at the New York Fertility Institute, Dr. Obasaju was the Director of IVF laboratory at Mount Sinai Medical Center, New York from 1994 to1997. He was the Director of IVF Laboratory at the IVF America Program in Mineola, New York from 1989 to 1994. He was a post-doctoral research fellow in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of California, Davis from 1986 to 1989. Dr. Femi Obasaju obtained his Ph.D. in Comparative Pathology (Reproductive / Developmental Biology) from the University of California, Davis in 1986, a Masters in Veterinary Medicine (Veterinary Physiology) from the University of Glasgow, Scotland in 1981. Prior to that, he received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria in 1977. The American Board of Bioanalysis (ABB) and the New York State Department of Health (Clinical Laboratory Evaluation Unit) certify him as a High Complexity Laboratory Director (HCLD) and Embryology Laboratory Director (ELD). In 2008 he received a Master of Information Systems from the University of Phoenix . He has authored numerous publications in peer review journals in infertility and in basic sciences and has presented papers and has given lectures at national and international conferences. Presently he is a laboratory inspector for The American College of Pathologists (CAP) and a reviewer for the Reproductive Biomedicine Online scientific journal. Dr. Obasaju’s research interests include detection of sub-lethal damage to embryos, oocyte dysmorphisms, oocytes freezing, embryonic anueploidies and implantation. |

Ana BoshkovskaIVF | Andrology Ms. Ana Boshkovska obtained her BS degree in Biological Engineering with a major in Physiological Biochemistry from Ss.Ciryl and Methodius University Faculty for Natural Sciences and Mathematics in Skopje, Macedonia in 2007. In recognition for her academic standard and diligence, she was awarded an Honorable Mention for Best Graduate in 2006/2007. Prior to working at New York Fertility Institute, Ana was part of the IVF Department at Remedika Private General Hospital in Macedonia. Ana is currently studing for her Master’s Degree in Clinical Embryology and Andrology. Her research interests include vitrification, embryonic anueploidies and implantation. |

Wilson FlemensMr. Wilson Flemens joined the NYFI as a Laboratory Technologist and Phlebotomist in 1990. Wilson received his Associate Degree in Applied Science from Queensborough Community College of The City University of New York in 1985. Prior to joining the NYFI, Wilson worked as a Laboratory Technologist and Phlebotomist at St. Vincent Hospital, New York. Wilson is currently matriculating at the City University of New York (CUNY), studying for a B.S. in Biology. Wilson is fluent in French, and can often be found playing chess in Washington Square Park in his free time. |

Kara CaputoPractice Manager, O.R. Coordinator Ms. Kara Caputo Joined NYFI in 2000. Kara received her Associate Degree in Applied Sciences from New York City Technical College in Brooklyn, NY in 1991. She has worked in different areas of the medical field, such as a licensed Dental Hygienist for 9 years and has extensive experience working in operating rooms, as well as in patient care & management. Kara enjoys traveling and spending time with her nieces. |

Marisa GovinB.S., R.N Ms. Marisa Govin is a Registered Nurse (R.N.) and has been IVF Coordinator at NYFI since 2006. She received her B.S in Biology with a concentration in Chemistry from Barry University, Miami , Florida in 2000, graduating cum laude. She also received her B.S. degree in Nursing from Barry University in Miami, Florida in 2002. Marisa was the recipient of a large grant for Nursing Studies from Miami’s Children’s Hospital of Miami and she is currently matriculating at New York University, studying for her M.S. in Nursing to become a Nurse Practitioner. Marisa is fluent in Spanish, has run several marathons and enjoys playing soccer. |

April LazarusOffice Administrator Mrs. April Lazarus has been with the NYFI since 2008; her prior experience includes over 15 years of working in the medical field as a Medical Office Administrator, Laboratory Technician and Medical Assistant. She studied Psychology, Biology and Women’s Studies at SUNY Stony Brook University and Math and Medical Sciences at Nassau Community College. April has extensive knowledge of computers and computer technology, which she has used to implement Electronic Healthcare Information systems and programs. She is a HIPPA Compliancy Officer and a Licensed Notary Public in New York State. April enjoys creative baking and spending time with her family. |
